Artist in Residence 2025

As Artist in Residence for Arts by the Sea 2025, Gabrielle Parker is creating new work that responds to the festival's theme "WE ARE HERE." Throughout the festival, visitors will encounter her site-specific installations and participatory artworks that explore how we make our mark on places and how places shape us.

Gabrielle's residency includes working with local communities, schools, and festival visitors to co-create artworks that celebrate presence, belonging, and our connection to Bournemouth's coastal landscape. Her installations will be located throughout the festival site, inviting interaction and reflection.

About the Work

Drawing on her experience in participatory art and community engagement, Gabrielle's festival work centers on the question: What does it mean to be here? Her practice combines visual art, performance, and social interaction to create experiences that are both beautiful and meaningful.

Throughout the festival weekend, look for Gabrielle's interventions in unexpected places - installations that mark the landscape, participatory pieces that invite your contribution, and quiet moments of connection in busy festival spaces.
